"Our desire is to bethe church, not simply goto church."
We started in the summer of 2009 as a community of people seeking to make our city a better place to live by living out the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to bethe church, not simply goto church. Our approach is simple, even a little messy at times. But even Jesus likes to play in mud, so He's not too concerned about our messes. He's the only one who really knows how to clean up our messes in the first place.
RiverChurch is a church for anyone, although it may not be a place for everyone. We have people from every walk of life . . . rich, poor, homeless, moms, dads, kids, grandparents. Some of us clean up to come to church while others of us haven't had a bath in days. Some of us show up sober and clear-minded, while others of us stagger in, not quite coherent, searching for something to ease our pain. Some of us have hangups and bruises from a rough life. Some of us are walking in freedom, only because of Jesus.
If you’re looking for a church where you can hide in the crowd, and avoid community, or simply live behind a mask and try to fool everyone, then RiverChurch probably isn’t the church for you. But if you’re looking for a community of faith where someone knows your name, cares about what’s happening in your life, and loves you enough to not let you hide behind masks, then RiverChurch is your church.
If you have questions or doubts about Jesus, that’s okay. He’s not intimidated by your questions and doubts, Neither are we. As we offer you a clear picture of who He is, we know that you can’t help but love Him as much as we do.
So you don’t have to be perfect, to come to RiverChurch. Just come.
We currently gather on Sunday Mornings at 9am & 11am at Cadence Coffee Company on East 7th Street. We’ll show you how to get here, and He’ll show you where to go from there.
